About the role
The posting says plainly that formal security engineering experience is not required, only a strong software background in large Ruby and Rails codebases.
The work is trust and safety: detecting and preventing abuse on GitLab's SaaS platform, including spam, token and AI abuse, SEO redirects and other financially motivated campaigns. The in-house abuse platform is a Rails monolith you would help maintain. Multi-agent reasoning is being added to the abuse mitigation tooling.
US, Canada, UK, Israel and India remote.
