Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform
Human Interest Posted about 2 hours ago $190K - $230K
About the role
Human Interest sells 401(k) plans to small and medium businesses, on the argument that more than half of working Americans are not saving enough largely because their employer offers them nothing to save into.
The posting is unusually clear about what kind of job this is, and that is the reason to read it. It says plainly: this is a software engineering role in the data domain, and the time goes on designing services, reasoning about failure modes and tuning distributed compute rather than authoring analytics models. The work is the infrastructure and compute layer underneath the data platform: containerized workloads on AWS ECS, autoscaling and resource sizing, the orchestration layer that coordinates them, and the evolution of the whole thing toward an architecture that holds up for AI consumption.
The current stack is Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Meltano and AWS, with streaming through Kafka or Kinesis. Experience running containers in production under real load, including cost tuning, is asked for directly. Remote, US.
