About the role
Kodex runs a platform that companies such as Coinbase, Stripe and AT&T use to handle subpoenas and data requests from law enforcement and government agencies. It is a Series A startup backed by a16z and Y Combinator.
This engineer takes over the security programme end to end on a small team, starting with corporate security, security operations and compliance and later growing cloud and application security. You would run detection and response in a Mac-first environment with SentinelOne, defend against phishing, write incident response playbooks, own Okta and Google Workspace access controls, build alerting in Datadog, handle vendor security reviews, and act as the main technical owner of the next SOC 2 audit through Vanta.
They want 4 to 6 years of security engineering, ideally at a startup, experience building a security programme from scratch, Mac fleet and MDM experience, detection and incident response depth, and SOC 2 audit experience. A DevOps or platform background, CISSP or CISM, and SIEM detection authoring are pluses.
Pay is $140,000 to $170,000 plus equity. Remote in the United States.
