OpenRouter is a routing and infrastructure layer for large language models, giving developers and enterprises one API to access and manage models across providers.

This engineer joins the Developer Products team, which builds everything outside developers use to integrate with OpenRouter: the public REST API, SDKs, docs, CLI and starter repos. You would own API design and ergonomics including versioning, errors and rate limiting, build and maintain the TypeScript and Python SDKs and lead upcoming SDK launches, ship the Agent SDK for multi-step agentic workloads, and make every developer-facing surface work well for AI coding agents as well as people.

OpenRouter wants 5+ years building external-facing developer products such as APIs, SDKs or developer platforms, strong API and SDK design instincts, strong TypeScript, an AI-forward workflow, and clear written communication, since docs and changelogs are part of the job.

Pay is $215,000 to $285,000 a year, plus equity. Remote in the United States.
