Radar Perception Engineer

Blue River Technology is John Deere's AI and robotics group in Santa Clara, building autonomous and precision machinery for farming, construction and forestry. This role can be done remotely from anywhere in the United States, and visa sponsorship is available.

As a radar perception engineer you would develop the radar perception stack that helps Deere's machines drive themselves, including fusing radar with camera-based perception. The work runs from hardware integration through algorithm development to field validation: writing production C++ for real-time radar pipelines, point cloud processing, tracking and object classification, odometry and INS data fusion, and profiling CPU, memory and latency on embedded platforms so the system meets real-time limits.

Blue River is looking for 3+ years in perception system development with a focus on radar, robotics and embedded systems, strong C++ and Python, experience optimising for hardware such as NVIDIA Jetson or ARM, ROS or ROS2 on Linux, and familiarity with sensor fusion and coordinate transforms. Experience with off-highway vehicles or radar-camera calibration is a plus.

Pay is $131,000 to $228,000 a year depending on experience and location, plus an annual performance bonus. Remote in the United States.
