Remote shouldn’t stop at the border.

Companies that welcome applicants worldwide, with the time-zone requirements and hiring restrictions worth checking first.

How to read this

What this list establishes

We include company-owned sources that explicitly describe worldwide work or recruitment. A distributed team, or a worldwide hiring note on the equal-pay directory, is not enough on its own. That page answers a different question. These are policy leads, not a live vacancies feed or a guarantee that every role can employ someone in every jurisdiction. Where a source does not specify exclusions or contract terms, we say so.

Three questions before you apply
  • Does the actual role accept applicants in your country?
  • Can you work the required hours without working through the night?
  • Will you be an employee or a contractor where you live?

A worldwide policy on record

Start with these employers, then read the eligibility requirements on the individual role. Flexible location and equal pay are separate questions.

  1. Automattic advertises working from anywhere and choosing your own working hours. Its hiring page describes a fully distributed organisation rather than a collection of country-specific offices.

    Location
Work from anywhere; confirm eligibility for the specific role.
    Working hours
The careers page says people choose their hours. Ask about the team's overlap needs.
    Contract
Country-by-country employment arrangements are not specified on this page.
    Travel
The page asks candidates to expect three to four weeks of travel per year.

1 company

Worldwide, with a time-zone commitment

A company can accept worldwide applicants and still need you online during someone else's working day.

  1. Oxide says its remote positions are open to candidates worldwide. It also asks for at least four hours of working-day overlap with Pacific Time, a meaningful constraint for applicants far from the US west coast.

    Location
Remote positions accept worldwide candidates; check whether the role itself is remote.
    Working hours
At least four hours of overlap with Pacific Time.
    Contract
The careers page does not enumerate employment arrangements by country.
    Pay
$275,000 USD regardless of location, with lower-base and commission exceptions for some sales roles.

Reading the caveats

Does worldwide mean I can work in any country immediately?

No. A broad hiring policy is a starting point. Ask the employer to confirm your country, the contract arrangement and any role-specific restrictions before investing in a lengthy application.

Does worldwide hiring mean location-independent pay?

No. Buffer and Todoist describe global work while also describing geography in their compensation formulas. Check eligibility and compensation separately.

Are all these companies hiring today?

This page records policies and examples, not live vacancy availability. Follow the careers links for openings; an advert cited as evidence may close after our check.
