About the role
Building the core abstractions other developers use, rather than an application on top of them. The seat is on LiveKit's Agents team. LiveKit provides the real-time infrastructure that a lot of voice AI runs on, including for OpenAI, Salesforce, Spotify and Meta.
Two named pieces stand out: defining the text modality so agents work across channels like SMS, and designing abstractions for stateful, durable workflows where an interaction might span hours. Both are genuinely unsolved.
US remote, with a wide band covering a real range of levels. Framework design is a different craft from product engineering.
