Senior Site Reliability Engineer - (US-Remote)
About the role
ClickHouse makes the open-source column-oriented database for real-time analytics and runs ClickHouse Cloud, a managed serverless version of it. The company is distributed across more than 25 countries.
This is one of the first hires on a newly formed site reliability team. You would set and manage SLOs and SLAs for ClickHouse Cloud, make sure the control plane, data plane and core database all have proper monitoring and alerting, run incident response and blameless postmortems, organise chaos testing across engineering teams, and manage on-call. You would also write software and tooling that makes the cloud service easier and cheaper to operate, and help other teams design systems that are scalable and fault tolerant.
ClickHouse wants 8+ years in SRE or a related field, previous production experience with ClickHouse, hands-on Go and/or Python, strong AWS, Azure or GCP knowledge, Kubernetes, configuration management and infrastructure tooling such as Terraform or Ansible, and a solid grasp of distributed databases and SQL.
Pay is $150,000 to $230,000 a year, plus stock options. The role is remote in the United States, with occasional company offsites.
