About the role

Elastic is looking for a Principal Product Manager to guide the vision, strategy, and execution for the Elastic Agent Builder. As organizations shift from traditional data retrieval to autonomous, agentic workflows, the Agent Builder serves as the critical context layer that enables users to make agents faster, lower cost, and more accurate. In this high-impact role you will define how enterprises build, manage, and scale context for AI agents, working at the cutting edge of the AI ecosystem alongside senior leadership, partnering with hyperscalers, and evangelizing to a global community of AI developers.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with enterprise customers, sales teams, and solution architects to understand requirements, negotiate priorities, and clarify product needs.
  • Build, socialize, and align a roadmap for core context engineering capabilities built on Elastic-powered retrieval and relevance for AI agents.
  • Deeply understand the AI agent market, major players, and trends, and how they may impact strategy.
  • Work with data science and engineering to build the strategy for benchmarking and evaluations of agent capabilities.
  • Work with design on user experiences that address gaps in how agents show and refine context as they work.
  • Be the product expert and evangelize Agent Builder capabilities through content like blog posts and open source projects.
  • Work with a broad ecosystem of AI partners, including cloud service providers (Google, Amazon, Microsoft) and community developers.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in product management or solution delivery for technical, cloud infrastructure, or platform products, with a consistent record of leading sophisticated, data-intensive products from inception through launch and iterative growth.
  • Deep technical understanding of the AI/ML landscape, including LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, and context engineering, and comfort working closely with engineers and data scientists.
  • Bias to action: you move fast, learn from experiments, and use AI tools to accelerate your process and sharpen decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead across a matrixed organization, align stakeholders toward a common vision, and drive execution in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
  • Outstanding spoken and written communication, distilling complex engineering details into compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Customer obsession, advocacy for the developer persona, and a commitment to solving real-world problems.
