About the role
GitHub's CISO organization is hiring a Senior IT Product Manager to own the product strategy and roadmap for internal IT services. You will manage product life cycles across IT owned systems end to end, from definition and planning through production, release, and iteration, working with a diverse team of engineers and partnering with design, change management, Security Operations, and Risk teams to ship timely, quality, secure releases.
Responsibilities
- Work with senior leaders to identify solution needs and gaps in IT owned systems, directing stakeholder and vendor discussions to pinpoint improvements.
- Manage demand intake, project boards, and backlogs, and plan and drive sprints with clear user stories and success criteria.
- Translate stakeholder needs into actionable technical solutions, serving as a subject matter expert for configurations and customizations.
- Direct collaboration with engineering teams on integrations between internal and external GitHub systems, assisting with complex integrations when needed.
- Coordinate demonstrations of solution features throughout implementation and build strategic stakeholder relationships.
- Lead cross-functional efforts with external software vendors on strategic integrations and support contract renewals.
- Develop compliant data management strategies, plan backups and restoration for critical escalations, and write SQL queries to analyze data.
- Drive developer testing, user acceptance testing, and bug triage, turning testing data into actionable conclusions for stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Substantial product management experience across the full product lifecycle for internal systems and services.
- Experience partnering with engineering, security, and risk teams to deliver secure, compliant releases.
- Comfort with agile execution, backlog management, sprint planning, and prioritization trade-offs.
- Working knowledge of SQL and data models for analysis and system troubleshooting.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including resolving escalated, time-sensitive issues.
