About the role

DigitalOcean is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to help build and ship its Security Products with high execution quality and clear customer communication. This role sits at the intersection of security product strategy and engineering delivery, turning customer needs and security outcomes into well-scoped work, crisp requirements, and shippable increments. You will partner closely with engineering and UX to drive backlog health, delivery rhythm, dependency management, and release readiness across one or more Security Products workstreams, reporting to the Head of Security Products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end execution of one or more Security Products workstreams, translating strategy and customer needs into clear requirements, sequencing, and shippable increments.
  • Serve as the technical product owner for your scope: maintain a healthy backlog, write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria, and keep engineering unblocked through fast decisions and clear tradeoffs.
  • Partner with engineering leadership on delivery planning, estimates, dependency management, and release readiness, with a focus on predictable outcomes and minimal rework.
  • Collaborate with UX and UI to design simple security experiences in the DigitalOcean console and API, then convert designs into actionable requirements and workflows.
  • Work cross-functionally across Security, IAM, Networking, Support, Billing, and service teams to ensure integrated customer journeys and clean remediation paths.
  • Define and maintain release criteria, including quality bars, rollout approach, customer readiness inputs, and internal enablement requirements.
  • Produce clear written narratives and launch assets in partnership with Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and Developer Relations.
  • Help align incident response communications by maintaining customer-facing update templates and coordinating stakeholder workflows during high-priority events.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management or a related technical field, with prior product experience in cloud, SaaS, or security products preferred.
  • Strong ability to partner with engineering teams at a high level of technical detail.
  • Experience translating strategy and customer needs into clear engineering requirements, sequencing, and shippable increments.
  • Strong writing skills and experience with 0 to 1 product development or early-stage product execution.
  • Understanding of security concepts such as posture management, IAM, logging, or WAF preferred.
  • Experience working with design tools like Figma and with UX and UI teams to translate problem statements into intuitive experiences.
