The principal-level version of Elastic's storage engine seat. Same territory, wider mandate: technical vision and architecture for core storage and query, and cross-organisational initiatives rather than component ownership.
ES|QL performance, storage efficiency and object storage data layouts are the named problems, all in service of observability workloads at a scale where a few percent of storage efficiency is a meaningful amount of money. Canada remote, Java, fully distributed team. They want a proven record of designing high-performance database or search technology.
