Tenant isolation in a shared distributed data store is one of those problems where the theory is well understood and the implementation is full of sharp edges. This seat is core security inside the Elasticsearch engine: authentication, authorisation, tenant isolation and applied cryptography, at a scale where the security work has to be fast as well as correct.
