Quora is hiring a Data Scientist onto a team the company describes as unusually empowered, and the description is load-bearing rather than flattering.
The work is designing measurements and metrics, running randomised controlled experiments and taking the results into product and company strategy directly. Quora's stated aim is to balance rigour with pragmatism, which in practice means scrappy answers where a scrappy answer is enough and a careful one where it is not.
Quora runs two products: the question-and-answer platform, and Poe, which puts thousands of AI models behind one interface. It is remote-first, and this role can be performed from any of sixteen countries on its published eligibility list.
