Principal Data Scientist

Red Hat is hiring a Principal Data Scientist to build data science solutions for business challenges including customer propensity, product forecasting, and recommender systems. You will use machine learning, data mining, and statistical methods to distill meaningful insights from large, complex datasets, and you will own solutions end to end, from requirements gathering through validation, implementation, and ongoing monitoring in production.

Responsibilities

• Participate in end-to-end development, from requirements gathering to validation and implementation of production data science solutions.
• Work closely with data engineering and ML Ops functional roles to operationalize data science solutions through automation and continuous delivery.
• Implement monitoring to identify model degradation, data drift, and concept drift, ensuring models maintain an acceptable level of performance over time.
• Directly engage with key decision makers across the business to iterate, test, and deliver solutions that improve the way Red Hat operates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field and three years of experience in the role offered or a related role.
• Three years of experience developing production-grade data science models built on statistics and machine learning models and algorithms.
• Three years of experience producing well-documented, well-formatted code using object-oriented design principles, including Python.
• Three years of experience with feature engineering using statistical techniques.
• Three years of experience with data querying and transformation, including SQL.
• Three years of experience working with engineering and ML Ops team members to develop and operationalize data science solutions, including migrating prototypes into production environments.
