About the role
The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Architect, OpenShift App Platform with deep technical, strategic, and business leadership in modern application platforms. You will design and guide the implementation of complex solutions that help customers modernize their software delivery, working directly with customer architecture, development, and operations teams to show how Platform Engineering and Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) improve operational efficiency, developer productivity, and business velocity.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design: lead the design of complex, production-grade solutions on Red Hat OpenShift, focusing on Internal Developer Platforms (such as Red Hat Developer Hub/Backstage), CI/CD modernization, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Customer engagement: lead technical discovery sessions and workshops, building strategic relationships as a trusted advisor to senior technical and business leaders.
- Technical leadership: serve as subject matter expert on platform engineering and AI-assisted application modernization, guiding customers through design, pilot, and production deployments.
- Problem solving: identify challenges blocking adoption of modern software delivery practices and collaborate on solutions that meet technical and business requirements.
- Work closely with Red Hat's product, engineering, professional services, and sales teams to ensure a world-class customer experience.
- Thought leadership: develop best practices, reusable assets, and architectural patterns, contribute to whitepapers and webinars, and speak at industry conferences.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in a senior technology role such as enterprise architecture, consulting, or sales engineering, focused on large-scale infrastructure solutions and platform adoption.
- Extensive hands-on experience building and managing Internal Developer Platforms, optimizing developer workflows, and streamlining the path to production.
- Direct, practical experience with AI-assisted coding assistants, AI-driven application modernization, and integrating LLMs and AI services into enterprise software delivery.
- Significant experience with Kubernetes and container platform deployments in large organizations, preferably with Red Hat OpenShift.
- Deep understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines, GitOps methodologies (ArgoCD, Tekton), and microservices architectures.
- Deep knowledge of Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux, in production enterprise environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, plus willingness to travel to customer locations regularly.
- Pluses: Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat certifications, public cloud providers, Red Hat Lightspeed, and prior consulting or professional services experience.
