About the role
As a Security Technical Account Manager at Red Hat, you will work closely with the Engineering, Products and Technologies, Product Management, and Global Support teams to debug, test, and resolve security issues for key enterprise customers. You will act as the customer's advocate inside Red Hat, providing relationship-based support and serving as a subject matter expert on security across the Red Hat portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with Red Hat Product Security and partners on behalf of customers, bridging customer operations and security teams with guidance on general and industry-specific security paradigms.
- Provide analytical support for proactive security monitoring, findings in Red Hat software, and security impacts from planned changes to critical, sensitive systems, with timely diagnostic and remediation advice.
- Mentor customer security and operations staff on security attributes and best practices for Red Hat software.
- Facilitate use of the Project Lightwell clearinghouse to coordinate scanning, triage, patching, and backporting.
- Collaborate with Red Hat Consulting on accelerating the software development lifecycle and OS patching at scale to maintain a trusted software supply chain.
- Perform technical reviews, create customer engagement plans, and keep documentation on customer environments up to date.
- Support enterprise customers implementing automated and containerized cloud application platform solutions, partnering with engineering, product management, and technical support to debug and resolve issues.
- Contribute regularly to the Red Hat knowledge base and serve as a mentor for specific technical or process areas.
Qualifications
- US citizenship required, a US security clearance is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in a security role, customer support, development, engineering, or QA organization.
- Red Hat Certified: RHCE (RHCA preferred), a security certification such as CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, or Certified Ethical Hacker is preferred.
- Demonstrated track record in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives.
- Applied experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams, with a solid grasp of CI and CD concepts.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible, plus the aptitude to learn container orchestration, registries, build strategies, and microservices quickly.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
