Principal Data Engineer

Red Hat is hiring a Principal Data Engineer to deploy pipelines and infrastructure, in both proof of concept and production form, supporting the company's Customer Data Platform initiatives. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to support combinations of platforms and infrastructure across the organization, connecting customer contact data with account and product data to power acquisition, engagement, and retention programs.

Responsibilities

• Work with analysts and their data sets in SQL, Python, and R to optimize and troubleshoot ingestion into Red Hat's Customer Data Platform.
• Develop data pipelines from disparate sources to support both analysis and activation of contact acquisition, engagement, and retention programs.
• Develop data sets across data lakes and warehouses including AWS, Redshift, Starburst, and Snowflake.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to build nimble audience segments, gather data requirements, and support audience segmentation questions.
• Maintain knowledge of data elements and Adobe Experience Platform in the definition and upkeep of segment, event, and attribute rule sets.
• Coordinate with Marketing Technology & Operations team members on development tasks.
• Collaborate across the Red Hat System of Sites to enable digital activation throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Consult with business owners on establishing and improving KPIs within Customer Experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and five years of experience in the role offered or a related role.
• Five years of experience querying databases and building batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Five years of experience integrating data and platforms and developing data sets.
• Five years of experience with SQL, Python, or R and with ETL/ELT data transformation.
• Five years of experience connecting customer contact data with account data and product data.
