Software Engineer II, Cloud Applications

Temporal makes an open source durable execution platform for building reliable workflows and agents, and runs it as a managed service, Temporal Cloud.

The Cloud Applications team owns key parts of the Temporal Cloud customer experience: Namespaces, the core unit of isolation with their own security boundaries and gRPC endpoints, plus Audit Logs and Export. As a Software Engineer II you would design, build and ship scoped features for those services, work on namespace provisioning, scaling and reliability, and build pipelines that process high-volume usage and operational data across tenants. You would also improve tests, instrumentation, dashboards and runbooks, and take part in code review, design discussions and on-call.

They want experience building and running production backend systems in the cloud, Go or another backend language, solid computer science fundamentals and a working grasp of distributed systems. Experience with PostgreSQL, Redshift, Kinesis, object storage or Kubernetes helps. The stack is Go, PostgreSQL, Redshift, ClickHouse, S3, Kinesis and Kubernetes, built on Temporal itself.

Pay depends on US location tier: $148,000 to $194,250 in tier 1, $133,200 to $174,825 in tier 2 and $118,400 to $155,400 in tier 3, plus equity. Remote in the US.
