About the role
Solace is a Series C healthcare company that pairs patients with expert advocates who help them navigate care, insurance and billing in the US system. Its US-based team is small and growing quickly.
This data scientist reports to the VP of Data and focuses on forecasting and prediction. The work includes building machine learning models for problems such as patient churn, operational volume and advocate quality, owning the time-series forecasts used for capacity planning, designing and analysing A/B tests and causal studies, and working with data engineers to put models into production. You would also explain statistical findings to non-technical colleagues.
Solace wants a strong grounding in statistics and probability, fluent Python with pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels and NumPy, hands-on time-series forecasting, and SQL good enough to pull your own data from Snowflake, along with care for patient data privacy. A master's or PhD is preferred. Docker, Airflow or MLflow deployment experience, healthcare claims data, NLP, marketplace matching and dbt are pluses.
Pay is $160,000 to $200,000 a year, plus equity. Applicants must be based in the United States.
