What 290 remote salary ranges tell us

All issues

I've turned the salary data behind Forcepull into a live Remote Tech Salary Index.

Of 292 live listings, 290 publish a complete annual salary range. Across the 254 USD listings, the median advertised range runs from $153,000 to $223,517, with a midpoint of $199,465.

The differences get more interesting when you divide the listings by role and location. The median midpoint is $220,575 for DevOps and SRE roles, $206,300 for backend roles, and $181,000 for security roles. Among the current location cohorts, it is $205,000 for US-only listings and $178,500 for worldwide listings.

These are advertised ranges from the jobs live on Forcepull today, not salary estimates or a survey of the entire market. The index keeps currencies separate, states its sample sizes, and links every row back to the underlying listings.

You can explore it at: https://forcepull.com/salary-index

I also reviewed the 35 roles added since last Wednesday selected the following ten which were originally posted by their employers between September 2 and September 7: security, backend, product, mobile, QA and design work across worldwide, North American and Canadian hiring regions.

Ten roles, chosen by hand, and no filler.

Good luck out there, internet frens.
