Senior Software Applications Engineer (DMC AI Development & Delivery)

Red Hat is hiring a Senior Software Applications Engineer on the DMC AI Development & Delivery team. You will use product outlines and requirements to develop core code, tests, and releases for the applications you work on, following each piece of work from inception to delivery, ensuring it is vetted and deployed properly, and owning the bug fixes and enhancements that follow.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery and development, ensure testing, and deliver fixes for bugs and coding issues.
• Create a path forward based on a set of given requirements and discussions with customers and end users.
• Collaborate with other teams on the status of enhancements, ensuring timeliness and accuracy for integration with Red Hat systems.
• Meet with teams and project stakeholders to discover application limitations and project requirements while limiting resource usage.
• Report status to management and stakeholders on project work, delays, and blockers, and help onboard other teams into Red Hat applications.
• Pull details on used resources and generate reports on availability, requirements, and time cost to determine the best path forward and recommend actions that enhance application performance.
• Build out and run projects within the technical team, directing other developers and providing key updates to stakeholders while keeping the project timeline on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and seven years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and five years.
• Five years of experience with Java application development, Git or another code repository, and technical application debugging.
• Four years of experience with front-end development and working on teams developing software applications.
• Three years of experience with OpenShift development and deployment.
• Two years of experience building and running technical project plans.
