Staff Designer, Rapid Prototyping

MZLA, the nonprofit-owned company behind Thunderbird, is hiring a Staff Designer for rapid prototyping on Thunderbolt, an open-source AI client for organisations that want control over their data, infrastructure and choice of model.

This is not a mockups role. You work in the codebase, build functional prototypes and product experiments, and write production-quality front-end code where it makes sense. You would define the interaction patterns for AI chat, search, workflow automation and enterprise administration as Thunderbolt moves from early development into enterprise use.

Thunderbird reaches more than 20 million people and is built in the open. MZLA is 60 people across seven countries, and is separate from Mozilla Corporation with its own pay and benefits.
