Staff Analytics Engineer

Coinbase's Finance Analytics team builds the financial data and reporting foundations that Accounting, Controllership, Treasury and FP&A rely on. It owns the source-of-truth financial datasets in Snowflake and Databricks, the pipelines that produce them, and the reconciliation, month-end close and reporting workflows on top.

As staff analytics engineer you would set the technical direction for that financial data layer. The work includes building datasets and reconciliations for month and quarter-end close, making pipelines audit-ready with SOX controls and lineage, designing well-documented models that tie out to the general ledger, running batch pipelines with Airflow and dbt, defining data quality and reconciliation frameworks, agreeing data contracts with upstream teams, and mentoring other analytics engineers.

Coinbase wants accounting exposure (a finance background or hands-on close and reconciliation work), expert SQL, strong Python, deep data modelling experience, production ETL/ELT with dbt or Airflow, a modern warehouse such as Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery, and a record of leading multi-quarter, cross-team initiatives.

Base pay is $207,485 to $244,100 a year, varying by location, plus equity and bonus eligibility. Remote in the United States. Coinbase is remote-first and brings people together quarterly for in-person working sessions.
