Staff Enterprise Architect

Coinbase runs one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges and a wider platform for buying, storing and building with digital assets. It is remote-first, with quarterly in-person working sessions.

This staff architect sits on the Enterprise Architecture team, which turns business goals into technology decisions across Coinbase's internal business systems: custom-built applications, third-party platforms and agentic automations. You would own initiatives such as technical debt reduction, application portfolio management and integration key management, set and govern architecture guidelines and design patterns, maintain technical roadmaps and system diagrams, evaluate new applications and platforms, and contribute to the company's architecture forum.

Coinbase wants 5+ years of hands-on enterprise architecture, experience publishing architecture standards and design patterns, solid security knowledge covering authentication, authorisation, encryption, key management and logging, and a record of reducing technical debt at scale. Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite or Workday, Go, React or TypeScript, and SQL and Snowflake is a plus.

Base pay is $193,970 to $228,200 a year, plus equity and bonus eligibility. Remote in the United States.
