Senior Software Engineer, Tax Engineering

Coinbase is a remote-first cryptocurrency exchange. Tax Engineering sits on the critical path of trades, payments and product launches, calculating cost basis, gain and loss, withholding and compliance reporting across products and legal entities.

As a senior engineer on Tax within Consumer and Business you would design and deliver backend systems for cost basis, gain/loss, withholding automation and tax reporting, build pipelines for broker reporting and clearing integrations as Coinbase expands into equities, margin and options, and keep the tax architecture extensible so new products plug into shared primitives. Design reviews, code reviews and mentorship are part of the role.

Coinbase wants 6+ years of backend engineering on production systems, strong distributed systems fundamentals for high-throughput services and data pipelines where correctness matters, and experience owning complex systems end to end with product and design partners.

Base pay is CAD 191,100 a year, with equity and bonus eligibility. Remote in Canada. Coinbase holds quarterly in-person working sessions.
